Diocesan Synod Residence & Orientation

Purpose:
To provide an opportunity for youth members to Diocesan Synod to:
•  Gather to get to know other youth members to Synod and to build this important Christian community.
•  To spend time orienting the delegates to the synod process as well as to the agenda of synod and the issues most relevant to the youth members.
•  To offer a financially reasonable residence program with transportation so that accessibility to Diocesan Synod is more convenient.

Whom/Where/When:
For all youth members to Diocesan Synod who have been appointed to the position by their parishes. The Residence and Orientation program will take place at Christ's Church Cathedral, Hamilton. Delegates will walk to and from the Hamilton Convention Centre for the Synod sessions.

Diocesan Synod for 2012 is a one day event - Saturday, November 17th.  The “Residence and Orientation” will beTBA. 

How to apply:
A mailing is sent directly to all parish youth members approximately six weeks before the event. Registration takes place by sending the form back in to the Diocesan Resource Centre or by contacting Christyn Perkons at 905-527-1316 ext. 460.

Delegates will gather Friday evening, attend the Synod Eucharist and Bishop's Charge after which the orientation will begin. There is a nominal cost per person which includes accommodation, breakfast and orientation session.
