Youth Ministry Consultants

Christyn Perkons
Is our Consultant in Children, Youth and Family Ministries. A “P.K.” who grew up under the eyes of parishioners from All Saints, Erin; St. George's, St. Catharines; St. Bartholomew's, Hamilton; and St. Christopher's, Burlington, she returned to Niagara Diocese in 2001 after many years in sunny California.

Her background includes children and youth ministry, Stephen Ministry leadership, social justice work, process and Open Space facilitation, community development and counseling. Christyn designs and implements diocesan programs in children and family ministry and shares that responsibility with Joyce Wilton in youth ministry. She supports parish work in these ministries through parish visits and consultations, telephone consultations with laity and clergy, and through the provision of diocesan-wide training days, conferences and resources. She is supported by the Diocesan Youth Ministry Committee and the Children and Family Ministries Committee.

Joyce Wilton
Is our Consultant for Youth Ministry in a part-time job share position and also staffs the Volunteer Management and Screening portfolio. She has been with the Diocese since 1992.  From 1985 until early 1992, she was a parish youth worker for the four Anglican churches in Guelph.

Joyce's time is divided between diocesan program design, implementation, volunteer staff recruitment, training and support, and the resourcing of parishes for both Youth Ministry and Volunteer Management & Screening. Joyce job shares the youth ministry portion of the position with Christyn Perkons.

Joyce's office days are generally Tuesdays and Thursdays. She is supported by the Diocesan Youth Ministry Committee.
